We Lost The War

Yes. We lost. The lies and betrayal by the Labour Party, particularly Keir Starmer and Steve Reed, about protecting the UK environment and championing wildlife was the last straw.

Now badgers can be killed by developers because greed and money are the most important thing in their lives. In the lives of Starmer, Reed and their ilk.  Department of Environment Farming and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) and Natural England are all accountable for what they have done and will do.

300,000 badgers killed on top of all those killed by cars has pushed the species to the point where it cannot recover population numbers. In the last 10 years I have seen developers "chancing their arm" at destroying badger setts until caught ("oh, we had no idea they were there"). I have seen Bristol City Council work teams damage setts and destroy fox dens in cub season ("Oh, our teams would not do that").

We have lost over 60% (I use that as a conservative estimate) of British foxes and like badgers there are many areas that no longer have foxes. But the slaughter for 'fun' as well as death by cars continues.

When you have bodies supposedly there to conserve the environment and protect species actually ordering mass slaughter of said species, allowing cutting down of woodland, ancient hedgerows and much more then what alternative action is there?  If the party in charge of the country is full of liars who are corrupt and do not care about the environment or wildlife (except in press opportunities of course and then their sincerity act almost brings me to tears) what alternative is there?  When the UK Green Party has not got the slightest interest in wildlife or the environment (until press call or election time and then the lies spew forth) what alternative is there?

Those who care and have battled decades in the wildlife war can shout and scream as loud as they can but 90% of the population just does not give a damn.

There is only one inevitable conclusion to be drawn: in the 2030s there will be a mass extinction of species in the UK then all the crocodile tears will come.

  Extinction is Forever
